FMS Overview
Face Machine Server (FMS) is a turn-key server component of the Face Machine with GraphQL API. FMS is used for face recognition, gender-age and emotions analytics. FMS is available as a cloud service and can also be deployed as on-premise server solution. Using FMS API, you can create complex solutions working with multiple streaming video channels, video files, and images, capable of real-time processing of face recognition events and collecting various statistical and analytical data.
The main principles and concepts of Face Machine are as follows:
- You need to create a Person Profile for each person to be recognized and add it to the database. The Person Profile stores a face image of a person, which is used for recognition, as well as information about a person (his/her name, gender, age, etc.).
- For recognition, you need to create at least one Edge Device. An Edge Device is an entity that generates Events such as detection, identification, etc.
- In order for the device to have access to Person Profiles for recognition, you need to add this Edge Device and Person Profiles to the List.

There are two ways to use Face Machine:
- With the help of a web interface
- Via FMS API
You can find the instructions on how to use Face Machine with the help of a web interface (without coding) in the Getting Started section.
All sample FMS API requests (GraphQL) and responses can be found in the Face Machine API Documentation.
